1987 Schwinn Paramount Value?

I was given a purple Schwinn Paramount for helping my brother in law move. It is a little small for me, so I am considering selling it. The serial number is 535B WE 87115. Any idea what it might be worth? This is my first time posting, so if there is a way to add a photo, please let me know. Thanks!

Pics aren't large enough to be much use.

Let me know if these pics come through any better. If so does anyone have a rough estimate of its value? Thanks again.

Part of the problem here is that Schwinn sold the 1987 Paramounts as framesets only; the local Schwinn dealer typically built the frameset up with the components specified by the customer. The photos are too small to get any idea of the condition of the frame and fork, the paint, the component group, and the wheels.

Your link just goes to the imageshack home page. The best way to post pictures, as oddjob2 suggests, is to upload the pictures to a free image server like photobucket, and link to the IMG URLs of the images in your post here.

These are photos of my 1987 Paramount hosted on photobucket.com. The components are Shimano Dura-Ace 7400 7-speed.

Thanks Scooper. I will try photobucket. Your Paramount is in much better condition than mine.

I hope I did this right. Let me know if the link alows you to view the photos. All of the components appear to be Shimono 600. It has wellgo pedals and a San Marco seat. As you can tell, I don't know much about bikes. Thanks for your help.

I helped my brother move and ended up giving him one of my bikes in the move. I must be doing something wrong. . . .

Still trying to figure it out. Thought I had it, but after trying to add photos, I realized I am still a photobucket dummy. I hope I got it right this time.

I had to help him move out of Dellwood near Ferguson, MO. It's the least he could do

As is, i'd say this bike is $300-350.

Replace the triathlon bars with appropriate drop bars, lose the frame bag, replace the tired tires with appropriate new ones. don't cheap out on tires. Clean up the grunge and make it shine and it could be worth $500 or so.

Wow, thanks cb400bill, that is much more than I would have thought. Any idea approximately what the cost of new tires would be? On a side note, my brother in law also gave me what I believe is a 1978 Murray Monterey beach cruiser. I'll post a pic of it as well. Thank you very much for all the information you provided.

Tires for the Paramount would run between $60-100 pair. Tubes $10.

The Murray is a $50-75 bike.

Thanks again Bill. Sounds like it would be a good investment to take you advice on getting it cleaned up, replacing the tires and replacing the handle bars. Much appreciated!!!

I think Bill's value estimate is light. I sold a neon orchid paramount, columbus sl for $900 last fall, albeit in pristine condition. I will post a photo if I can find it.
