Motobecane Grand Record frame + parts

Hi all,

So, I have plans to meet with the seller about this frame tomorrow morning:

Vintage Motobecane Grand Record w/ Reynolds 531 & Campagnolo Dropouts

He says he's unwilling to move on price because it's priced below market value. Should I go through with the purchase?

Thanks for your input!

Good deal, I sold bare frame and fork for substantially more on ebay this summer, with challenged paint, no corrosion.

I would say it's a good deal the frame set is basically worth the asking price. The parts look to be fairly nice and include the French bits headset stem and BB which is nice. The seat is worth $50-60 itself if it's in good shape.

Do it! I bought one just like yours only its a 75-76, after riding mine for over a month, its the best ride Ive ever bought, and possibly ever will. I wouldnt hesitate paying his price.

I have a thread if you need inspiration in my profile

For the SF area that looks like a quick grab to me. Fun winter build, right there.

Ok, I went ahead and bought it... So far so good, matches the ad. Reynolds main tubes, Stronglight headset, Brooks. Here is a pic with the old wheel set from my uo-8, which I plan to cannibalize for the hubs and Racer brakes.
