1988 Steven Bauer Olympics Miele

Hey just wondering if anyone can help me find out what this bike is worth? It's a 1988 Miele racing bike (Steven Bauer Olympics version) still has original frame, seat and handles - does need some TLC as has been in the basement in storage for quite a few years since I stopped being allowed to ride it but any help is much appreciated!

Value in general depends on where you are. Cycle-crazy urban environments are about 2x the value of rural and sell very quickly. In Toronto, that Miele could easily sell for $350 to $450, in all other Ontario markets, about $150-250.

However, your bike has tubular tires/wheels, grim looking bar tape, and an unsightly Ulock holder. Retape the bars, remove the lock holder, give it a soapy wash(dish detergent) and take some pics showing the drive-side. These recommendations will help you get top dollar in the shortest period.

The parts are interesting; black anodized cranks, gold(? or is it just me) anodized brakes & hubs. These as well as the gears could be premium versions of respected parts, you could expect $50 more. However, most buyers are shy of tubulars, so expect to offer a discount of 50 bones because of the wheels.

Please post drive-side, gear, crank and brake pics.

Other smart opinions will come! Welcome to bike Forums.

Thank you! I will wash it up after work tomorrow and take some new photos The tires are pretty bad because of the last time I rode it though - It was a few years back, I was on a green light heading home from work and someone decided it was a good time for a hit and run through a red light I had to dump the bike and went flying across the intersection thankfully the tires were the only things that took the brunt of it but it's not been ridden since just hanging out in the scary place that is the land of forgotten (aka the basement! )
