Vintage Shogun 500 mixte pricing advice

Is this bike overpriced? I have been watching Craigslist and other local sources for vintage bikes, and it seems a nicer bike than the vintage mixtes that I could get right now for $175 here in Boston. Adding in for the shipping, though, brings the price up.

Nice components and mixtes always seem to command a premium. I can't make out the tubing sticker, but it looks like Tange Champion something or other from the "C" visible in one of the photos. Fair price, not a steal, especially with shipping.

Can the mods move this to the appraisal sub?

Looks like the tires are tired and would need replacing. At $225 with shipping, not a fabulous deal.

I agree, here in the PNW the mixte just isn't as trendy as it was 5 years ago, but that's not a bad
thing if you're looking a a mixte for it's riding qualities & not because it's cool. Prices on some pretty
decent mixtes have fallen to favor the buyer here. $175 here will get a pretty good mixte here, but
to ride, you may want to invest in a few upgrades. Exceptional ones depend on the afficionado's
wallet, maybe $600. That is unless your an elitist with big bucks for a snobcycle.

I bargained and bought for less -- $165 with shipping. Not great maybe, but that is still less than what local sellers seem to want for a well-used Raleigh Marathon and other mixtes. I think/hope this Shogun 500 is a bit nicer. We'll see. I'll update once I receive the bike and can ride it a bit. Both my cargo bike and my Trek hybrid are aluminum so I am looking forward to having a steel bike for days when I solo commute!

Thanks!
Priscilla

i think you got a deal. mixtes are still hot around here for sure, and that is actually a decent one. If it is tange champion then its a real nice find for under 200

The mixte arrived, and I have to say that I am loving it! Bike is in better shape than I thought -- tires are dry but rideable for now. Folks at my LBS were very admiring -- they knew I was weighing vintage mixte versus something newer like Torker Interurban mixte (which I would have purchased from them), and they said I did good. Thanks to all for the advice.
