Trek 1420 -- Will it ever

A real dog's breakfast of odds and ends, but rides nicely.

Does this relic have nothing except potential ? It has come a long way.

Looks good to me, you build it out? Valued at 150-170+- during the season around here maybe a bit more since looks ready to go, nice tire tread, etc.

Looks to be nicely set up considering it was done with odds and ends, whats on it probably works better than the original accu-shift stuff and semi swagged crank with oddball rings. I don't see anything wrong with it as a rider ready to go you should get $200 in the spring.

The frame is from about the 1992 model year, and Trek was moving away from Suntour. Came with Shimano bar-cons, not Suntour Accushift.

I don't think anyone would spend $200 on a mutt with that collection of mismatched components. What's with the six-speed rear wheel? That bike would have come with a 7-speed Shimano hub cassette wheel. Other than the rear derailleur I don't see anything that's original equipment besides the frame and fork. Maybe 125-$150 as a rider only, if someone comes along who is small enough to fit that frame.

The quick release seatpost clamp is a interesting idea, but it looks like it's destroying/destroyed the paint.
