Value of 1982 Fuji Supreme
Hello all,
This is my newly acquired Fuji Supreme. It looks like it is in nearly mint condition. I bought it from the original owner and it seems he has taken good care of it. I have tried to look for the value of these older Fuji bikes and cannot really find anything definitive. The paint is in great shape, virtually no blemishes. The artwork is great with only a small bubble on the FUJI seat tube logo. There is a tiny bit of rust on the headset and a couple of other places. The shifting works well, wheels roll smooth, tires hold air and have no cracking. I know the values vary by area. If anybody has seen one of these sold (or sold/bought one) please let me know.
Thank you (and now for the pictures)

If overhauled with new grease, tires, cables, and brake pads, I could sell that for $150-175 in my area.
If all that still needs to be done, $75.

If this were fully refurbished(all components cleaned, new cables and housing, new grease in all bearings) with a handlebar swap(to aluminum), tires in good condition, that pie plate removed, turkey levers removed, hood added - I would want about $185 around me.
If no work besides new bar tape has been done to the bike in 30 years(how it looks in the pics), I would say its worth $50-75, since those tire walls look really dark brown(aged) and will need to be replaced.
I am sure it would sell for $100 around me without any work done, but it’d be to someone who doesnt know better or to someone who wants it to keep and can do all the work on their own to refurbish.
ETA- forgot to mention- it looks like the derailleurs were changed from original. the ones currently on the bike are a good solid alternative.

It's hard to beat the quality and durability of those old Fuji's. Probably one of the best values in vintage bikes out there. Unfortunately these are only worth about 1/2 or 1/3 of more collectable bikes from Italy or France. Maybe someday people will realize how cool old Japanese bikes are & prices might go up. But, until they do you're not going to get big bucks for it. As is you could get $125. Refurbished w/new tires, chain, & shiny parts you could get $275. If it was mine I would keep it. That's a great size bike for somebody around 6' and, one of the best rides around.

Thank you for the information. The handlebar tape is recent, and so is the bearing grease. The cables all look really good. I will try and track down some tires for it. I bought it to use as a commuter while I finish my other projects, and then I will see what I can get for it. It rides amazingly well though. I was very impressed. It felt nearly as fast as my 2012 Giant Defy 1 road bike, and it actually feels fairly light too.

Those are really good value bikes. People are looking. Old Fuji's in good shape usually go pretty fast.
