Rescued Raleigh Canadian Model No 99, coaster...year??
Rescued her from the dumpster when my neighbor was moving out to the retirement home. Nice looking bike, mud guards are a little rusty. Can anyone help me with a date of manufacture? Any ideas what this bike may be worth as is? I was going to clean it up for my wife to ride, but I don't know anything about this bike and would hate to "ruin" a piece of history by fixing it up and putting her back on the road.

What a coincidence! I just bought a men's version of the same bike a couple weeks ago, and it is one of very few on the internet...they're very rare, but don't have much value, especially since the women's frame doesn't have the unique curved top tube...maybe 50-75ish as it sits. Probably mid 50s, mine is a '58 and looks about the same, though different downtube decal and it has a heron crankset.

Thanks for the info! I have been searching for a comparable online but haven't found one yet. At that price I think I'll make it a winter project

Hi Knuckle Dragger,
thanks for posting the pictures and serial number.
I have seen the gent's model of the Canadian. The serial number was 1881 RC, stamped on the seat tube lug. The seat tube lug is different on the gent's and lady's models and I think that is why the order of the letters and digits is different on the two models.
Here is a very good resource that may provide you with information on your Raleigh.
