Peugeot PKN10E Competition

Thoughts on this Peugeot PKN10E Competition, 62cm, Reynolds 531, drilled crank, Mavic 700c, Simplex drive-train, is $650 too much or in the ballpark, NYC market, please let me know.

Thanks

I'm not sure your purpose for the PKN10 as it is for a 6'3" rider and the Marco Polo bike is for a rider 12" shorter?

In any event, the PK10 is 2X over FMV, particularly with the Barf wrap on the bars.

I'm a bicycle collector-
I'm 6'5 so the Peugeot is a good fit. The Marco Polo I got in a garage cleanout.
What do you propose fmv for the Peugeot?
Thanks

2X overpriced means I value it at $300.

It is too expensive even without the ugly bar tape. Don't forget, this is reynolds 531 main triangle, not the fork and stays. It is a really fine riding bike but not worth the asking price.

That low? Thankfully the typical U08 is going for $250-300+ plus in the NYC market

I think it could fetch $450 on a good day, a spring day in 2016

I'd put the value a bit higher, especially in NYC. I recently sold a nearly identical PXN (???) for $200. Mine was full Reynolds (tubes, forks, stays) but had rust issues and needed a complete overhaul. Tires were shot, rims didn't match, etc.

But the really huge size holds down value. $350-400 is my guess for NYC assuming it's overhauled and ready to ride.

At $450, you are at the low end of a PX10 in average condition needing an overhaul, so IMHO, more than $350 for a PKN10 is dreamland. Unless you have personal experience, UO-8 sellers may be asking $250-$300, but I assure you they aren't selling for that amount. I sell enough bikes to citizens of 2 of the five Boros, Manhattan & Brooklyn to be specific, to know the market pretty well, particularly French bikes.

I won't publicly share the bargain price for the 58cm PKN10 I bought near Montclair NJ in late December 2014, including a free stuck seat post. I intend to keep this one, along with my PX10 and a PGN10.

...I don't know NY prices or follow the CL there, but here in the San Fran bay area, $650 buys more bike than that, especially this time of the year.

The bike looks to have been nicely cleaned up but not actually serviced, I would suspect it will need new consumables and servicing. The poor looking wrap job on the bars makes me think they likely didn't actually service the bike and if they did I wouldn't trust there work. Considering it is a nothing real special mid level Peugeot I couldn't see more than $300 as shown.

I'd value it at $300-400. If you test ride it and love it, it might be a good idea to be willing to go over that, if you've been looking for a while and haven't found anything you love. But don't let the seller see your love, as that gives him bargaining power.

You may see them priced that high, but are they selling? I dunno.

As is, maybe $300 or so. Cleaned up with better bar tape, a leather saddle, etc... I'd say $400.
