2-pin Stronglight Dust Cap Tool
In an effort to restore an old Stronglight Cyclo-Touriste crankset, I tried to find an original Stronglight 2-pin extractor tool.
Turns out hat these are harder to find than the crankset itself.

Eventually I gave up and made my own -- https://www.flickr.com/photos/strong...s/23200898725/

Nice work! I just use a pin spanner. Pick the one with the largest pins that will still fit into the two holes.

fine job Amir!
the factory Stronglight tool by the late '60's had dustcap removal pins on the backside of the socket for the by then current dustcap with the slot. the pins are rectangular so even if you found one of those tools they would not accommodate the earliest pattern dustcaps.

the right tool for the job
I've got a nice collection of pin tools at home and could get one to work.
But the original Stronglight tool was so much more elegant.
It had a concave surface to match the curve of the dust caps, and the pins fit dead-on.

Using exactly the right tool always feels better.
