Battaglin - ID and worth?
New member, long time lurker, first post. I'm very excited to be popping my C and V cherry!
I bought this Battaglin today for a princely sum. The decals were removed except for the Columbus ones so I have no idea what model it is or what year. Not sure if the components are original or have been upgraded. It would be nice to know its vintage or a bit of its history. It could be a frankenbike, which is OK because I kinda fell in love with it. Those are my drums in the background. I took pictures of the bike in my van if anyone was curious.

Doesn't look like a Frankenbike per se' ---- it looks like an old race bike to me
Race bikes that were used, broke down - broken parts were replaced with whatever came along in some cases ---- Your major bearing surfaces are Campy, (headset, Crankset and i assume bottom bracket) -- the rest of the parts, including the seatpost, look to be Dura Ace --- a Dura Ace seatpost is a rare part somewhat, so i would take a wild guess that this was originally a Dura Ace equipped bike and the Campy bits are there to replace worn out stuff
Many many fantastic framesets i have seen were also put together with whatever the end user could afford or brought forward from a previous frame ---- doesnt really make 'em Frankenbikes to me ----
Nice bike

Good looking bike and the paint looks really fine! Almost like a repaint. Shame about the decal removal. So you have special double butted steel tubes and Columbus fork. All that bodes well.
My susecion is that the DA parts replaced Campy parts. However, 7200 series DA is great. I have it on my '91 Pinarello. Or is was a choice by the original buyer. 7/8 speed Campy wasn't perceived to be as good as DA.
To be honest, I haven't a clue of vintage. I do know that bottom bracket is a newer one from Cinelli, as is the under BB cable routing in general.
So you have tubulars! How fortunate! This bike may well have been a racer or at least intended for racing. Which rims are they? I believe they are Mavic, but which ones?

Yes. Mavic GL330. Yes the bike had no decals except the Columbus ones. It's OK though, still a looker to me.
