Sadly, pics are needed . Is this a frameset, complete bike, what? I assume you are talking about a Chris Chance built Fat Chance

if pics are taken, most useful for starters is a full drivetrain side pic followed by others you think might be relevant

Is there a serial number under the bottom bracket? Some forum members may be ably to identify factory/country of manufacturer based on the pattern. My guess is Taiwan. Marin did the colour matched anodizing thing, but these parts don't really match. It looks like someone did it themselves. It's not a fat chance, I think you probably guessed that already. I'd place it about 1994/5.

From the tubing stickers, it looks like a good bike, "tange" is what I'm referring to, that's good.

The name is on there, that is a bike company, Ritchey! But don't ride like this guy. I'll bet people into Mountain Biking might recognize this readily.

Just do an image search on google, bing, whatever of "Ritchey Bikes", lots of hits, they are still around I think.

The mile-away giveaway of a FAT is the famous bulleted stays. I don't believe anyone else did that and it's very easy to spot (and if you don't know what I'm talking about, google it and look...FATs used stickers and were generally bought by serious riders, so they often ended up scarred up, used up, and repainted, and stripped of their stickers, and they will turn up in crazy places.) The tig ritchey's would still have the super nice ritchey brazing. Also, that Tange MTB tubing is REALLY heavy and no high end bikes used it. That said, like so many other things, sometimes what were garden variety products by yesterdays standards are really nice by the standards of today's throwaway society. That one looks a bit gone though.
