Bonelli Parcours Purple Road bike

My litle brother's friend has this bike in his garage.. It doesnt have wheels, but the frame is in good condition. Cant find anything about the bike on internet.. so do you guys know something about the make/model/year etc? (this picture isnt the actual bike, but it is exactly this model)

Due to the neon graphics, unicrown fork, and the components I'd say it's early 90's. Mid-tier bike. Touring cantis. Your best chance of finding a model year would be the date codes on the Shimano crank. Shimano date codes

Certainly worth $20.

Bonelli is the house brand for the Sports Excellence chain. Like most chain stores, they cater primarily to the average consumer looking for entry level, recreational models. The subject bicycle appears to be an early to mid-1990s. I'm quite surprised to see a kid's touring bicycle. This was probably near the upper end of what SE sold. Still, it's probably Taiwanese or Chinese sourced. Probably hi-tensile with a CrMo tube or two.

I just went and bought the bike.. he had mismatched wheels with it (one was original).. 2 tires and one tube. Ill post some pictures later when it'll be cleaned up and ready to roll. The tubing is 10-10 hi-tensile, has shimano sis derailleur, pretty cool/light bike overall.

The rear derailleur looks like very low end Tourney TX or TY series.

Upgrade the derailleurs and crankset. It's a decent looking lugged steel frame. I'd ride it for sure.

Looks like it's pretty well equiped. Cantilever brakes and bio-pace cranks. I would guess right around 1990 vintage. It's got good bones for touring. Great deal for less than $50. Enjoy.
