Diamond Back Arrival info sought

I just purchased a second hand Diamond Back Arrival. I know next to nothing about bikes and bike values, but this bike looked like it has quality components and was well maintained so I bought it. I asked the previous owner how old it was and they thought it was about 15 years old. Based on internet searches I've done after the purchase, I suspect it was manufactured in 1987. (yellow with black fork, thin "ARRIVAL" lettering on the frame.) How can I find out the year for sure? I believe I paid a fair price, but how can I find out the bike's value?

thanks for your help.

Like this one? MOMBAT: 1987 Diamond Back Arrival

Without pix of your bike, we're just guessing at condition and FMV.

Classic 26" mountain bikes don't get a lot of love these days. I think that's somewhat due to the popularity of 29ers and MTB's fitted with disc brakes having pushed the 26" MTB's aside.

That having been said, it appears your bike has the XT group like the MOMBAT bike does. That group alone is probably the best thing about this bike. Some folks still swear by the XT thumbshifters, for ex.

If it were a steel frame, it might be a little more popular, but this one is aluminum and welded.

Around here, maybe $125-150 completely fixed up, needed parts replaced, tuned, cleaned and ready to go.

I think you could do better parting it out. You might get that much from the XT group alone.

As always, your market may vary.

Thanks for the info. I bought it to ride, no plan to sell or part out, but good to know. I paid 175 so I feel I paid a fair price.
