Dura Ace Components

I have the following Dura Ace components from the early 80's, and am
trying to figure out if they have any value:

Front and rear derailleur
Front and rear brakes
Downtube shifters

So they are old, but in good shape.

Any advice on the best way to sell would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mitch

Yes, they have value...sell on eBay for maximum value. Go to eBay and do a search for the parts...but...be SURE and look at "sold listings"...not just the currently available listings.

those parts definitely have some value...

Dura Ace 7402: Cycling | eBay

take good, high-quality photos (showing all flaws), describe them accurately, and you'll put some dollars in your pocket.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

These have value (I just bought some!) but determining how much is the trick.

The first way to ball-park your value is to determine what year (and sub-type) Dura-Ace these parts are.
In the early 80's you could have standard Dura Ace, Dura Ace EX, or Dura-Ace AX. All have value, some more than others, to the right buyer.
You can post clear closeup pictures here, advice is to link to a photo hosting service if you can't get the pics up using the "Upload Photos" button when replying.

Another help is to look for a two-letter date code on the back side of the brake calipers, and in some cases on a hidden part of the gear changers.
Search "Shimano Date Codes" on the "vintage Trek" website for more info and help.

Next step is to determine value. We have a wide variety of opinions on the Forum, mostly good advice.
To determine value independently of opinions, use eBay to search for your items once you know what you have.
On the left side, partway down, you'll see some check boxes, one is labeled "Sold Listings". Check it.
The listings on view will change and you'll see (in most cases) what the item sold for (with exception of "Best Offer Accepted" items).
Average several items together, knocking the highest and lowest prices off, and only compare your items to those in the same condition.
If you choose to sell there on the pirate Bay, know you will face the hassle of shipping, sometimes to difficult customers.
You will also lose 10-15% in fees, which is why I call them pirates.

You can also sell here on the Forum, costs you less and you'll have a focused group of interested parties as your audience.
If you sell on Craigslist expect to get offers only if you are willing to deeply discount your researched eBay price (35-50%).

Best of luck, looking forward to seeing some pictures so we can drool a bit and assist you, if you wish!

Thanks to all for the advice... once I get my act together, I will either post here or on E-bay... or I may
see if anyone locally is interested via Craigslist.

I think you need to be a paid member to post here.

As others suggested, look at sold values on eBay. Recently pieced together a 7400 group myself using eBay. Paying ebay prices is guaranteed to make my upcoming Paramount build cost twice as much as it will be worth!

Here is what I recently paid for items in GC-VGC. Prices include shipping.

175mm cranks with rings - $76
Brake calipers - $45
Brake levers - $30, no hoods!!!! x3 if they have good DA hoods
Rear derailleur - $35
Front derailleur - $30
DT shifters - $24, rough condition but I can fix them
