Colnago C&V - need identification assistance please

This is a recent acquisition purchased locally sporting pantographed Campagnolo Super Record group. Original owner lent it out to a friend and after using it a season the borrower offered to have it professionally repainted and the original owner agreed to it. He said it was a different shade of blue than the re-paint if that helps. I will say the professional paint job was the best I've seen. He also re stickered the bike but I can't comment on that since I'm not familiar with the Colnago models. The original owner (nice guy apparently) also lent out his wheels to a buddie and that person never got around to returning them. So the bike has been hanging in storage unused for many years. The original owner mentioned that the bike was "built up" by the LBS for a tall rider who decided against - made it sound like it was custom built up from stock frame. RD is PAT 82.

1) Would like to know anything you may be able to provide regarding ID, along with any anecdotals on the mode/year and reference for possible valuation...

2) What wheels would be best for somewhat era correct, and what speed. I may just decide to sell as is or alternatively try to locate wheels and make it a ridable for someone.

Thanks in advance for anything you may offer - and I can provide better pics if needed. Note - bike has not been cleaned up yet - my apologies.

Early 80s Super or perhaps Mexico. Looks like a pretty nice repaint. I like the pantographed bits. Also, pretty sure the internal brake cable is a mod done when the bike was refinished.

Guaranteed to be set for a six speed setup unless it was spread from original to accommodate 8/9 speed later on.

Thank you for your assessment DD! It's about 127mm spread. I'm undecided on what exactly to do with it since I ride a 58cm. I'm not one to part-out a bike so I may just put it up on CL or the bay but prefer local and let the buyer decide. Any idea of what kind of reserve I should consider? I agree the panto bits are yummy.

Regarding the internal routing (or rerouting?) of rear brake cable - if done as a mod it was one a VERY professional job. It's so good it makes me wonder. Did Supers not have that feature?

Supers/Mexicos from this era generally did not yet use aero cable routing. The Profil CX and similar were the aero-trick frames.

Since it's a refinish w/out wheels and has panto stuff (and is not your size), I'd part it out to see more money. Historically it's impossible to know if this is the original build (parts-wise) so I'd have no problem breaking it down to bits and pieces. I might even be interested in a part or two

Thanks again DD I appreciate your opinion - I may let it simmer for a while. I've noticed a lot of frames available nationally that would be worthy of a nice pantographed colnago campagnolo super record group. And this large frame of lesser value could justify a modern setup for an extra tall rider.
