Well, I have (and like very much) a Trek 2200 with Ultegra, so I would opt for the 2300 with Ultegra. But they look like they would 'fit' very differently, so......

The Giant has a Compact design/fit, this was common back in the early '00, but has just about been replaced with the Semi-compact fit.

Both look right condition wise for their age, the Trek has better but older parts, both need some work (Trek is missing bottle cage bolts, Giant the saddle looks worn/cracked, but has new bar tape).

If your going to get one of these, do you like blue or silver more?

The Trek has a mis-matched wheelset , which I would question . As far as the Giant, the comment about "NO games or phone calls" would eliminate it for me . Good luck in your search !

I have ridden them all and you want to look for a vintage 90's Specialized Epic Comp or Epic Allez. It is better than the Trek or the Giant for the money and you can find them for 400-500 all day long.
