Motobecane value
While on a road trip the other day, we were driving through a small town. We stopped at a small bike shop to look around. Hanging from the ceiling was a mint Motobecane Grand Jubilee, Reynolds 531, all original and beautiful. I have zero knowledge on these, but its been nagging at me since we left. They had a price tag on it for $350, but I'm sure they would take $300. I'm not sure if thats a good deal or not. As always I wish I would've taken pics.

I would say yes $300 is pretty good deal if it's very good original condition. These were a very nice higher end light touring model. Depending on the year and components they go from about $300-500 price wise.

Second what zukhan1 said. GJs are nice rides. The models that actually have the Jubilee derailleurs seem to be the most desirable. The one pictured below was modified with an Avocet triple.

You nailed it. I love the looks and idea of having a nice vintage tourer. I just don't like riding them. One day, I'll slow down and trade my race bikes for something more relaxed.

My Motobe GJ is one of the nicest and best looking bicycles that have come my way. Of all the bikes owned, I kept six and my Grand Jubilee is one of them. It would take a lot more than $300.00 to pry it away from me, but that is just me.
As for racy, not really but relaxed, to say the least. This is the one I watch birds with. Bird watching is pretty interesting. Never thought I would think that, let alone say it out loud.
