1987 Miyata 112 vs. 1996 Trek 420
Looking to spend around $100-$200 on a used bike and these two fit the bill in my area:

https://images.craigslist.org/00M0M_5...C2_600x450.jpg $175
Thoughts? Concerns?
Thanks!!

The concern is that one bike is for a short person and the other is for a tall person. Which one are you? Google bike fit before you go shopping.

Thank you, I should have clarified. I'm 5'9", so, relatively short. I have a taller friend that is also looking for a bike so I am also looking for feedback on quality. The taller bike (Trek) is a bit further away and the shorter bike (Miyata) is a bit more expensive so before I jump into haggling/looking at either bike I thought I'd check here.
So I am also interested in an appraisal of the bikes regardless of size since both are in play.
I should have been more clear (I'm obviously a newbie here but I promise I'm trying)
Thanks!

That Trek looks to be a 60cm so at your height may be too big but perhaps not. At $100, if it fit, I'd buy it. And I believe it is a 1989.
The Miyata is a lower end model but from what I know about Miyatas its probably a nice lower end bike. By the way - at your height the Miyata may be too small.
Check out these sites:
Vintage Trek Bikes- Information on Steel Road Bicycles made by the Trek Bicycle Corporation, bike
Miyata Bicycle Catalogs

The 420 is a very, very solid deal at $100. If it fits, I'd snag it quickly.
The miyata is a good bike but not a deal. It is fairly priced at $175 so there should be other bikes in your price range available of roughly comparable quality.
