Hiawatha bicycle in attic

Lets cut to the chase .In my mom's attic is an old Hiawatha bicycle that supposedly belonged to her cousin who disappeared in WWII . This should date it in the 30's maybe early 40's . I cannot find the handlebars for it and it is missing the chain , but it appears to be in decent shape .This guy wants to buy it . I have no idea what to ask for it . Thats the sole reason I'm here . To get an idea on the value . I can get better photos and other info, if needed .So anyone care to give an appraisal ?

I'd probably off-hand say $300+. They were an ordinary bike sold through hardware stores in it's day, but it looks fairly complete and in good shape. The saddle alone is worth $100+. You will need a 'skip tooth' chain for this bike.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

The fenders, tank and rack also lend back some of the value that is diminished by the missing chain, chain guard, handlebars and grips. Minimum $250 value as presented. Buyers will try to use missing parts as a bargaining chip, $250 should be a rock bottom price, not your asking price which should be $50 - $100 above your rock bottom. Best of luck!

Are you selling the bike? I think $300 is pretty darn low.
