Schwinn Excelsior 1930s
I have a Schwinn Excelsior that I got 75 years ago in 1943. The bike was made in the 1930s I think and I I would like to know the exact year of manufacture. I have the serial number from below the crank (B50904; I'm almost certain that the letter is a 'B' but it's a little worn and could also be an 'R'). I've asked the Schwinn Company for the serial number history but was informed that the records were lost in a fire. Is there anyone who is expert enough to place a year on this beauty? Thanks in advance.

It might be 1939 according to this: Bicycle Chronicles
Seeing pics of the bike and serial number would be helpful. If you pull the crank you should see a date in the center of the forging: https://thecabe.com/forum/threads/pre...ank-set.91650/

Thanks for info.
I do have a photo, but the system won't take the upload. Something about a 'token'. I think the image is too large and I don't have a way of reducing the size. I'll keep trying.
I double checked the serial number and it is definitely a 'B'. If Bicycle Chronicles is accurate then this bike is from 1939. My hunch is that the bike is a little older than 1939, but so far this list from Chronicles is the only information I've found.
