Lotus Elite 600 Triathlon
Hi there,
I am new to cycling and I picked this bike up for $100 (old posts here said it might be worth 200+ in good condition).
Did I get a good deal? Is there anything I should know about it? I can reply with more pictures if needed. The previous owner barely used it and was not very knowledgeable.
Thanks!

Drive side photos are best so we can see the drive train. That said, a quality vintage 10 speed for $100 with good paint is a solid to a very good deal depending on the quality of the frames, parts, etc.

That is a fantastic find for $100. Really solid condition both cosmetically and mechanically. There isnt much wear either way.

Shut up and ride!
Yup, I'd definitely buy that for $100. Good find! The Shimano 600 group alone is worth more than that.

The subject bicycle is a 1986-1987 model. The few that have I have data for in my database were manufactured by Yamaguchi. This is a solid mid-range model. Original price $599.00 US (in 1987), so $100 is a great deal. If this were my bicycle, I'd consider replacing the resin pedals and re-orient the front quick release lever, so that it points along the fork blade, instead of forward. The front brake should be adjusted for proper pad clearance with the quick release in the closed position. Despite being barely used, it still warrants a complete overhaul of all the bearings with fresh grease.

That's a great deal for $100. Whoever used to ride that thing must have had a long torso with those extended handlebars & stem.
