Claud Butler Reynolds 531 info&worth please
Couldn't pass up this bike for $140 and it is near work and not100 miles away this time. Finally will experience the uber hype about 531 tubing in relation to my Peugeot PSV. Any info on Claud B 531 bikes especially on ride or geometry? Thank you. (Update 18 Oct 2016: picked "Betty" up this morning and rode thru London main roads and she rode like total dream, very sure footed, fast and did not even take it out of the smallest cog. I can feel the smallest weight difference from my Peugeot PSV but I prefer a bit more heft much like my mountain bikes. Will post photos and parts. The original stem and overall fit, fit me like a glove. This came from the original owner's nephew and kept indoors. Thus little to no rust. Wish I knew what the original seat was. Right, I am a firm believer and fan of Reynolds 531!
Rock on!

You did good for $140. The parts are muddled but this is a very fine frame. It looks like someone built this up from parts on hand to sell the bike. It is worth considerably more than what you paid for it even in the mid sized city where I live in the Midwest. I've picked up a number of bikes of this quality at $140 or less. I know I could get $250-$300 easily to sell; more if I was patient. In a large city, I'd peg the value closer to $400-$500.

Thanks BikeMig. I really prefer this for every day commute over the PSV which is too light and feel I will be blown away. The front tyre needs changing but happy it is not tubular like my PSV. Will sell on my '78 Pug. Cannot justify having 4 vintage bikes.

Lovin every minute
I have been riding my CB 531 nonstop. It is like a drug. I feel I can cycle forever and don't mind climbing hills. My PSV will hibernate this winter til I switch back thr original and shorter atax stem. I did sell on my '78/79 to a student in London for tad more than I paid for it. I just need to sell my '82 Carbolite, tad too small. The pricepoint for Carbolites hovers no higher than $90. I bought a red Equipe Carbolite for $70, in my size this time.
