Identifying and then maybe valuing old Cannondale with downtube shifters
I am trying to figure more out about this Cannondale I bought probably 5 years ago. It had (when I bought it) Shimano 105 shifters, Shimano RX100 brakes, Matrix IsoC 700C Wheels with Michilin Pro3 Race Service Course tires. Modolo Flash handlebars on a Nitto stem and All-City pedals.
The guy who had it before me had it professionally powdercoated which looks really nice, but also I can't find a darn serial number anywhere... http://i309.photobucket.com/albums/k..._21_20_Pro.jpg http://i309.photobucket.com/albums/k..._21_49_Pro.jpg http://i309.photobucket.com/albums/k..._21_36_Pro.jpg Thoughts/feelings/opinions? Thanks! -Parker |
Looks like 80's - early 90's. Serial number would help in identification. It's either on the bottom of the bottom bracket or the non-drive-side chainstay or seatstay as shown here:

'87 or '88 SR 500 model. Serial number should be on the top or bottom of the drive side chain stay, might be hard to see if the powder coating is thick. Flashlight helps.

I think the repaint took quite a bit of value away, as the imitation rock (granite?) finish will not be universally liked.....
It's an early Cannondale as it is pre-cantilevered rear dropout design........ |
