Centurion Master Ironman Dave Scott
This is the model Centurion I'm after. Its the right size. The only drawback is its a 2 hour drive north to look at it. Tell me what you think. From my conversations in the forums, I appreciate the feedback and advice I have heard and received. the asking price is $200 which I think is in the ball park for this bike if it truly is "ready to ride." I have a question about the add on wheels though. I would prefer to have the original Araya wheels rather than "Wolber" wheels of which I know little about.

You didnt link a listing or post pics.
Wolber rims from the mid-late 80s came on a lot of solid road bikes. For whst that's worth.

Depends on what year Ironman it is. I don't see any pics. Fwiw the early 1986 had Araya and later ones had wolber. The 1987 all had wolber.

Somewhat slow older guy
Pending pics for condition, I'd say $200 is a decent price. Don't know what your local market is like.

Don't save them to your hard drive.
1. Right click on the pic in the CL ad.
2. Left click on "Copy Image Address".
3. Go to the Bike Forums thread you want to post in.
4. Left click on the yellow box above the message box.
5. Copy and paste the pic's URL in the box that pops up near the top of the screen.
6. Click OK.

Ok! Newbie Danarello here again. I finally figured out how to post pics in Bike Forums! Thanks for your patience and help cb400 bill. This Centurion Ironman Master Dave Scott is on CL. Seller is asking $200. I'll have to drive 200 miles to get it though so I'm interested in what you think about it. It is a 12 speed with 600 components and has Wolber wheels.

That's a 1987 master. Those wheels are original to that Ironman.
Three hour drive doesn't sound bad considering price and very desirable model.
Looks like you'll have to replace the brake levers because the 600 brake hoods are very difficult to find. If you Decide to drive make sure they agree to save it til you get there. Is that the lowest they'll go?

Thanks for that input texaspandj! Maybe seller can be flexible in light of the brake hoods not being intact.

That's one of my favorite color combos for the Ironman Masters. Beautiful bike, nice components. Good like with the purchase.

Still learning

At $200, I wouldn't push for more than ten percent. Masters are hard to find. There is a yellow 58cm in Pasadena for $150, but it is a lot rougher and needs a lot of work.

+1. I paid $200 for my 1985 Ironman with mismatched wheels, torn saddle and worn hoods. If the paint is good, this is a fair price to pay.

the Blue/White Centurion Ironman MDS
I may be making the drive up to Carson this weekend to grab that bike before it's too late. I am interested in this yellow one also although it is more Roughed up as oddjob2 pointed out. It looks salvageable though.
