No name bike value?
In my old mans stash of abandoned bikes (he used to have a bunch of rental properties) I found this nicer lugged frame bike but unfortunately it has no badging on it. Here's what I know and suspect:
-It is a lugged frame steel bike.
-It has suntour V GT lux rear derailleur.
-Suntour 7 front derailleur.
-Silstar crankset (I couldn't find a model during my quick peek).
-Mafac racer centerpull brakes.
-Some Italian brand aluminum 700c wheels (I forgot the name) with nice campy style QR skewers.
-Aluminum seat post.
-I suspect it was a road bike, but it currently sports a green painted quill stem, flat bar and thumb shifters.
-I suspect that the bike has been painted (all black except for the aforementioned green quill stem) but have not sanded it down to see if I can find anything underneath.
It still rides beautifully after putting some air in it and I would just as soon keep it except its a tad bit too big for me.
I know pics would be helpful but I didn't have good lighting for any decnt pics. I'll try to get some up ASAP.
Just looking for a ballpark # to maybe facilitate a trade or something.
TIA!

Silstar is the model name of an SR crankset. Based on the wildly divergent components, it would be presumptuous to assume anything about the frame, without pictures.

Sorry guys, I forgot yesterday was Halloween! Then things got busy today so pics are going to suck but they're something right? Please excuse the mess, moving things around for winter, tearing apart some of the cheaper, broken down bikes for parts.
Whole bike
Front Derailleur
Rear Derailleur
Crankset
Wheels
Brakes
"Sunshine" Quick Release
This thing has definitely been repainted now that I took a better look, though I gotta say it was a fairly good job. There is some overspray on the pedals and it appears to be original paint behind the crankset where the previous owner didn't quite get to. Looks to be a goldish-tan color.
black dots on pedals is over spray
You can see the original color behind the crankset
Any other pics that you would like to see that may be helpful? Do I try and sand her down to see if I can get to original paint for identification? Unfortunately, I forgot to look for a serial number...

Stamped dropouts and top tube cable stops are indicative of an entry level, hi-tensile frame. The eclectic component mix, repaint and condition all hurt the value. I'm always leery when I see quick releases that aren't used properly. $20-40 in as is condition.

Why are top tube cable stops indicative of an entry level frame? I'm pretty sure my World Voyageur has top tube cable stops.

Using two simple guides tacked on the underside of the top tube is the cheapest way to do the rear brake cabling usually indicative of a lower end bike. Most nicer models of this vintage would have 3 braze on top loops, or nice chrome clamps and full length cable housing. As for the bike it looks to be a a entry level boom era frame set with bunch of random just OK none original parts so worth about $50 mainly parts value.
