vintage mountain bike help
My neighbor gave me his old bicycle because he knows I like the old stuff but I'm having a problem finding information of this particular brand " Troopera". Based on a old bike that I have, I'm thinking is a Taiwanese manufactured bycicle from the late 80's. What you guys think?

Not sure of the manufacture history but looking at the brakes and shifters it looks like a mid-80's bike. A better pic of the rear derailleur would be of help in giving a better idea of where it was value-wise. My guess is a lower end bike.

It looks like a private label, entry level model based on the nutted hubs and swaged crankset. The presence of a uni-crown fork suggests no earlier than late 1980s, as Bridgestone, Fuji and Miyata all introduced models with uni-crowns in 1986. If those are Taiwanese and Chinese components it could extend into the 1990s. The serial number may provide a clue as to the exact year and manufacturer.

Troopera
Some pictures of the bike. At least it is surface rust and dirt. Suntour rear derailleur and shifters, Shimano (Singapore) front derailleur, Tracer crankset...

No value here, as in someone paying money for it. If the tires are fit to ride, give it to a DUI cyclist.

Troopera
I'm going to give her to my dad so he can enjoy it because the frame is too big for me. I' know there is no value but it is the only survivor I've seen of this bikeshop brand. The thing that intrigues me is the origin of the frame itself.

freespirit Dynasty 930se
This Freespirit Dinasty also doesn't have any value but it rides wheel to wheel with my friends 7,000 dollar Cannondale and keeps up really well. It is not the arrow is the Indian.
