Possibly repainted and redecaled. Have you pulled the fork to check for another color in hidden areas? If the components are original, you may be able to date some of them or match them to a spec sheet in a catalog.

What a pretty bike. The TIG welded 900s had cooler colors than the lugged ones. One of my grails is a 1995 Trek 990 in Ice Root Beer!
