MBK Prolight, circa 2001?
I found an MBK Prolight with Shimano 105, in Cofidis colours, on Ebay - the listing says it's "new old stock", and from the photo it does look quite untouched. Unfortunately there's only one photo and it's not the greatest.
I can't seem to find much info at all about these bikes - aluminium frame is just about it - can anyone shed more light?
By the way, they're asking €495 (+€25 to ship, which seems ridiculously low).

66 views, and nobody has more info on an early 00's MBK "Prolight" in Cofidis colours? Hmmm... that makes it even more interesting!

After *a lot* of searching, I'm thinking this might be a little optimistic on the price, probably because it's "new old stock". If I were looking for a project bike to play with, I could probably find something a bit used for roughly half... but unless it's a real turd on the road, the relative rarity alone might make a similar MBK an interesting one to have in the collection!

No, I passed. It didn't have enough "cool factor", and it's really not that special. (Maybe if it were all campy...) I'm sure if I was patient, I could find just the frame alone (or something worth cannibalising) for @€100.
Instead I've got a 1997 Litespeed Catalyst frame & fork on the way from the US, which should keep me busy until summer.

I know that this is not a great bike, no "collector's dream" But a perfectly decent ride, I would guess? Off the shelf Taiwanese ally frame dressed up with 105 bits and toshed up with "CoFiDis" colours?

ps "Cool Factor" changes innit? ie, a Carrera is sniffed at in a UK cycle club, cos Halfords innit? But in France.. Perfectly decent bike.. I think similar here "Cofidis MBK" possibly, in France sneered at (not cool) But I would be happy to ride it.. (as long as it was, at heart, a decent bike) Might have to buy Cofidis Jerseys etc, but hey, IMHO Once you are out on a bike, most people think that you look like an idiot anyway?
