Olmo Restored

This is a red Olmo that has been restored by CyclArt (Cat 2 paint, it is "signed" by the chain stay). I have read what I can about Olmos but I am guessing you guys here know the knitty gritty. Thanks a bunch. I have a google photos album of better pics, but not sure about posting links or sharing them here.

Are you looking for valuation? Info about model and year? Originality? Are you thinking of buying, or selling this bike?

It's OK per the forum rules to post links to photo galleries, if that's your concern. More photos will be helpful in getting a full evaluation.

I guess I edited out that I have the bike now, sorry. I am thinking I am going to sell it as I have another Olmo. I have a lot of bikes to sell that are vintage steel types. Most of them look really pristine so I am not sure I would want to ride them.

Here is the link for the pics:

thanks!

If you're looking to sell the Olmo, then you have to have a paid membership here, and post in the sales subforum. Here you can ask for opinions on the potential value, and how best to sell it, and so on, but not actually try to sell the bike (nor link to your own sale on CL or the bay).

Your post with the photo links has reappeared in this thread -- beautiful bike with great components! I think with the elite membership you can post an ad in the C&V Marketplace thread to sell the bike.

I think you still need to be more specific with what you're looking for here. Do you want suggestions on a good sales price? Suggestions on where and how to sell it?

If it's the latter, there are a lot of previous threads that detail your options, from people who have sold a lot of bikes. One thing I keep reading is that the market for high-end vintage bikes is softer than it was, and that the winter is not a great time to sell. Pic. assist:

I see it now too, thank you! For this bike, I guess a range of prices? Is it a 1000-1300 or 2000-2500? I know the market is slower this time of year but I need to make room for a car in the garage. ;-]
thank you again for the replies!!

Very nice Olmo with a nice Super Record group but I'm not sure Olmo has enough cachet to warrant 4 figures on this bike. My lightly-educated guess is $800-$1,000.

Interested in hearing from others if I'm way off here.

Didn't I just read in another thread that a complete SR group set in good shape is worth about $900? It would be a shame to break it up, but it might be the most $$ in sales to sell the frame/fork separately, in which case my [also lightly educated] guess would be above $1000, but not nearly $2000.

I just dumped a signature Merckx, fresh repaint, SR group, for $1100. If you're looking for top money, part it out. Sell the frame first, then the group. If you want to sell it complete for top dollar, prepare to wait. Take care of the issues (you clear chainstay protector is peeling off, and the bar tap looks less than fresh), and list it for sale in the spring. Wait for that one buyer that just can't live without it.
