Used bianchi eros--good deal?
I'm curious from those who would know better than me whether this is a good deal (and if anyone can tell what year this is / if it's legit). A used Bianchi Eros for $375 (I'm willing to low ball), details and pictures below.
From the owner (the way it's written is a little concerning): "2x8=16 speeds, shimano mix components,105 crank set,105 F and R derailleur, sora brake and shifter in one,Dia compe brake lever,Italy seat,Ultegra hub lace with Mavic rim"

Thanks!

The frame looks to be ~2005 (matches/close to this example: 2005 Bianchi Eros - Pedal Room ), but everything else is from their parts bin. The 105 stuff is from 3 different eras (RD: late 80's, crank: early 90's, FD: late 90's-00's). Single pivot brakes from the 80's. Threaded steel fork with sloping crown from the 80's where it would have been stock with a threadless carbon fork. Not sure how they're getting the old RD to index properly as an 8 speed. I'd stay away from this one.

+1 I would say pass on this one it's a just OK Aluminum frame with a bunch of random parts 7 & 8 speed stuff mixed together with Sora brifters and cheaper caliber brakes. I doubt that it indexes correctly or brakes good and with the current fork and stem on this frame it probably doesn't ride all that great either. As presented I wouldn't want this bike at its current value of about $150.

Pass this bike on down the line...too many issues...now, if you can get it for $50, then go for it...

This is a great example of the "Celeste" tax, the seller is banking on someone being blinded by the celeste colour and not seeing what a dog this bike really is.
It'll probably work too.....

But I agree with everyone that it's an overpriced parts-bin build.

Yes you are correct it is steel 631 the OS tubing through me off on that. Yet even though technically compatible I have doubts about used Sora brifters working good with older mixed DR's and brakes since they were a bit iffy even with matching stuff.
