Zipp carbon wheelset
Sorry this is not for a bike but a wheelset. Found this in a local facebook group and the seller claims that this is a Zipp carbon 404 wheelset but there is nothing it says Zipp or 404 on the wheels. The seller also mentioned that HED is a just a sticker on it. I'm not an expert on these wheelset so can anyone identify this wheelset? Thanks!

My more recent Zipp wheels have the logo embossed into the carbon, but I'm not sure how long they have been doing that. I am probably higher up on the "carbon fiber fan-boy scale" than many here. I love my Zipps but I'm very leery of old carbon wheels, especially with the aluminum brake track. I wouldn't use those even if they were given to me, except maybe for really short time trials or blinging out a hipster fixie (which I'd never do).

If they are Zipp, they are an older set- at some point they starting dimpling their wheels like a golfball surface too i thought
Mis matched hubs
I definitely wouldnt want to pay over 200 bucks for that set, --- and as previously been mentioned, i wouldnt buy them as "daily driver" wheels, but would still be good for club time trial duty

I suspect they are HED rims built in to wheels by a shop or previous owner. It's possible the seller assumes they Will because they are the only carbon wheels he knows.

Hard to tell from the pics but the look like and older set of fairly low end Bontrager HED. CX wheels. I probably wouldn't want to ride them since it looks like there may be some separation between the carbon and the aluminium.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

Franken-wheels. Correctly-branded Hed rims that may have issues. NOT Zipp 404's.
Front hub has more holes than the rim it's laced into.
Rear hub lacing pattern is reversed on drive side (outer spokes should pull).
Someone's trying to make a fast buck, looks like.

Thanks for the feedbacks. The seller wanted $300 first and he came down to $150. I am going to pass. Not worth any troubles.
