Hetchins Magnum Bonum value?
I came across a rather interesting old bike, a Hetchins Magnum Bonum road bike with the "curly" seat and chain stays. The owner says it is from 1959. The original paint is remarkably nice, with almost no scratches or chips, the decals and head badge are nearly perfect.
I haven't been able to find any of these for sale, or sold recently, and have no idea what the market value is. I am not sure if I want to pay the owner's asking price if it is too high. If anyone knows what one of these are worth, please let me know.

For myself if the Bike was as you say and priced at $2000 or lower I would buy it. If it fit of cource.

Did you check the Historic Hetchins site? It will give you an idea of what people are asking for them at least.
I do agree with Wileyone, if the condition is really good $2000+/- sounds reasonable. FWIW I paid and then sadly sold my '96ish frame/fork for a tad more.

They're worth a lot and are among the more desired brits...
Exactly how much depends on condition, parts and the particular frame. I believe the Bonum was a less expensive, less gaudy Hetchins option, but my knowledge on them is not extensive either.

Apparently it was second to the Magnum Opus (I actually like this design more).
