Help With A Novara
Anyone familiar with this brand? All I know is it was sold by REI. Wondering if this is worth $50 asking price. Thanks!

Novara was the private label house brand for REI. The bicycles were contract manufactured by various sources, typically Asian. This one appears to be early to mid-1980s, entry level and has a bent non-drive side chainstay (and almost certainly seat stay). It's a fairly sharp bend and is probably creased. Value is components only. I'd pass.

Even without the frame damage (a deal-breaker for sure), you'd still need a saddle and a chain, wheelset, tubes, tires, etc, pushing the final dollar amount way past the tempting $50. If you're just starting out and don't have a lot of spare parts, always look for complete bikes.

Yeah, there's not many screaming deals on 19" framed road bikes on SF CL at the moment.
