Late 80s Peugeot triathlon
My wife found this on a local garage sale app; not familiar with these bikes but it does appear to have a Shimano 105 group set and pretty good paint but I guessing with a brazed fillet Reynolds 501 tritube it wasn't an awesome find.
Is there a serial number database to get the year made; and what are these valued at?
Thank you for your assistance

It is a 1988 model manufactured in July 1988. The Peugeot serial number format during this era was Yymmxxxxx or Bymmxxxx, where y = year and mm = month.

There's nothing wrong with brazed 501. It doesn't have the bling factor of 531 and so won't help the value much, but it's not like it's cheap hi-ten tubing. The 105 components are nice. I think that bike might be worth as much as $300 cleaned up. The corrosion around the eyelets on the wheel would be my biggest concern.

That bike would probably clean up nicely but may need fresh consumables and grease in all the bearings. I bought one in similar condition in Nov 2010 for $100. After a complete tear down and replacement of anything worn out- sold for $250 which I think is about max for this level of bike in my market at that time. It's winter, the market is a bit soft so I wouldn't buy it, put time and $$ into for profit. For a rider maybe if the price is right. The rusted eyelets bother me. My 2¢, it's location dependent & YMMV.

I would say $150 give or take a little as presented and $250-300 nicely cleaned up and serviced with some new consumables and rust treated removed. These are really nice bikes but the brazed framed Tri models just don't seem to be as sought after as the nice lugged framed road models.
