Bike with a Weber frame.

Hello,

this is on the local "craigslist" for an equivalent of about 250 usd.
It's probably too small for me. The seller says it's probably Columbus tubing. Modolo Corsa brakes, Columbus forged dropouts, Suntour arx rear derailleur, looks like a SR crankset. The down tube has these "dents" like in the picture (the tube is not round).

Never heard of a Weber frame. Whats the history behind this? Relabeled frame? What it is worth?
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums. Looks like a quality bike I don't think I ever heard of it. The dents or grooves on the down tube are to increase rigidity. Several companies used tubing like this, although with usually six grooves and on all three main tubes.

Just a WAG but, maybe a promotional item for the Weber grill company?

The seller thinks Weber was a professional cyclist and was making/selling bikes later. Well, maybe... I'll pass on that, too small.
Thanks for information
