Vitus 979 with full CdA gruppo
I'm thinking of selling my Vitus 979 with full Croce d'Aune (including Delta brakes and CdA pedals), all in very good condition. Any opinions on its value?

Vitus 979 frames do not carry that much value, although they are excellent frames, they do not have as big a following as steel C&V top line framesets, so the most they go for these days in VGC is about 300 bucks on a very good day.....
I think you will realize maximum value from the bike if you sell the frame, separate from the Campy CDA components. Up to maybe a third more in total value, the 979 frameset will actually pull down total value 8f sold as a complete bike.

CDA and Vitus just does not "sing" together as well as CDA and a nice steel Italian C&V frameset. Most buyers will just harvest the gruppo off the Vitus frame to build up such, so will seek for a big discount to try to cancel out the cost of the frame from the picture. Now if the 979 frameset was built with maybe a "Tout French" approach with maybe a Mavic SSC gruppo, then there will be more buyers that will try to keep the bike and components together.... and will most likely be willing to spend more for the whole bike.....

Thanks to all for their advice. I think I'll just hang on to the CdA gruppo and look for a nice Italian steel frame at a good price to build up. In one way it's a shame since the Vitus frame (in black) is a really good-looking frame.

Why are you selling it at all if you like the frame - just to try something different?
