De Rosa frameset
Been looking for an 80's De Rosa complete bike or frameset in my size for a while. This one just came up from the Pro's Closet on the 'bay. It seems to be early-mid 80's - likely SL? No chrome on the rear stays like the later team Ariostea De Rosas. It has the team Sammontana decals but doesn't have the beautiful blue paint - what's the probability its a repaint?
Priced at $700usd - not exactly a steal but caught my eye at least - opinions?

Pretty nice looking...but...for me...a De Rosa should be red or blue...but...not a bad price IMHO...

I think that one is dark blue. The decals are the Team Sammontana livery. I found that model in the '84 catalog but I think there were later versions. The Made In Italy logo though I'm not sure if that is on the original '84 version.

The price isn't bad and everything about the frame set seems right. The seller is one of the better pro shops to deal with vintage bikes and have done a good job answering questions I have asked on other items. I would probably contact them and ask to verify the color and if it's likely a repaint.
