lemans centurion ID
Good morning,
I am looking for some assistance finding more information about a Lemans Centurion I am looking at purchasing.
I have attached a picture of the bike.
It has the following markings:
Small decal: "260"
Label: "Special light tubing"
TE31604
Seller is asking $75.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Early to mid 70's. High Tension steel frame. In my area, in that rusty condition, $35-50.
Here is a link to some basic info.
LeMans (RS) (1970-1989): | Vintage-Centurion
"In the mid 70's the LeMans sold for $139."

Hi ross co,
I assume that "TE31604" is the serial number. Was the s/n on the lower seat tube?
Many Centurion s/n from this period start with the letter "I" and not "T".
Owners of other Centurion LeMans the s/n starting with "I" have said they were purchased in 1974. You may be able to date some of the components.

The subject bicycle is pre-1978 based on the Raleighesque decals and an entry level model with a h-tensile steel frame, 2nd from the bottom of the line. This one has aftermarket pedals. It's hard to tell much from the poor, non-drive side photo.

Hi all, thank you so much for the informative replies !! I guess my next question would be, if I can get it for cheap enough, is a resto worth it ? Any suggestions for places to seek replacement parts?

With the center pull brakes & chrome socks it's definitely a pre-80's model. Centurions usually always feature nice Tange frames. Older ones would have Suntour bits & Sugino crank sets. It's missing the front & rear reflectors. Has a bottle holder fastened with hose clamps. Needs a bunch of new parts. Personally, I'd be very interested in this bike. If I could get it cheap enough. Like $50. It would convert into a nice upright townie style bike.
