Nearly mint condition 1994 Bridgestone RB-1
 

This bike, when bought from new was built up with an entire 1994 Athena groupset.
The original owner then proceeded to ride it twice and then store it for 20 years. It looks brand new and still has the plastic film over the headtube badge. The only negative for the bike is that There is a small scratch in the paint on the down tube (drive train side) near the bottle holder. I was debating if I should try to repair it or not (my OCD screams at me to make it perfect).
I have so far ridden it twice and it is lovely, it rides and shifts as if it was new, you can notice that this bike was stored and not ridden for all those years.

Beautiful - but it seems strange to see a practically new one with a full campag set-up like that, it is kind of an anathema to GP's ethos. I have a much-loved and well-used '93 RB-1/8 which I work to keep pretty close to original equipment that I plan to never sell and leave to my kid ;)

Not the advice you are looking for but AFAIAC if it is so "lovely, it rides and shifts as if it was new"...unless you are drowning in bikes - keep it, ride it, enjoy it!

The Campagnolo set up is very nice, -- and Campy is my favorite for many things, --- but I think it deducts a few points (meaning dollars) - from this bike -

The bike would likely have come with Suntour, or a Suntour/Shimano mix ---- but it would be a heckuva lot of trouble to run down all the parts to make it catalog spec again

I agree near the bottom end of the scale, unless you find a motivated buyer. This is a beautiful bike.

No, an original '94 Ribbie was pretty much all 105, 8-speed STI, which IMHO made it less desirable than a '93 8-speed that stock was all Tricolor. Wonder if that's why the original owner switched to Athena?

I'm feeling $600 +/- $50 on this one. In my experience, it's hard to find a decent STI equipped bike for less than $400. Add a pristine RB1 frameset to the mix and you've got a very nice machine.

I would think in Tokyo, $700 US would be easy peasy.

You should put new tubes & tires on that. If those are the original tires, then they're around 23 years old by now. I wouldn't want to be doing 35mph downhill on those.

This one has popped up in the CL/eBay forum. Seems The bike is in the Boston area and is listed at $1,000.

Is the bike in Boston area or in Japan? Looking a lot like its a back door advertisement to the craigslist listing. Hate to be suspicious, but that's the way it looks when the OP tries to hid his identity for a bike already listed and priced. I do think that $1,000 is doable with some patience.

I think $1k is on the high side but Boston is a hot market and this is a sweet bike. Maybe a motivated seller will show up. But at this price, you start competing with top end European bikes as well. I'll up my original estimate. I think the bike move at or around $600-$700 but sits at $1k.

The force is strong surrounding all Grant Peterson paraphernalia.

I don't think it has a chance at $1000 either. Especially with 23 year old tires on it.
