Vintage Mixte 12Spd Bicycle Malvern Star- is it worth $130 AUD ($100 USD)?

I'm considering buying this bike but do you reckon it's worth it for the price? I just need to get from point A to B in city traffic for work but I can't tell if it looks up to scratch considering it's older.

It has 27 inch alloy wheels, Micheling tyres.

Gears are 12 speed Shimano.

The seatpost is stuck at the moment too so I can't adjust it... Apparently it's set for someone of my height though (5'10).

Thanks so much for any advice. I've attached photos.

That saddle is too low for a 5'10" rider. If you have a big bench vise and patience that seat post will probably come out.

FMV with stuck seat post $60.
FMV unstuck before buying, $100.

I agree about the saddle being too low. Getting a stuck seatpost unstuck is a gamble. Sometimes it comes loose with some PB Blaster, a little waiting, and some strong twisting; sometimes it takes a bench vice and something like PB Blaster, and sometimes it can't be done without 'destructive' methods.

This looks like it would otherwise be a good bike for your needs, except that you might want something with a narrower handlebar if the cars pass close to you on your route. Those SUV mirrors really stick out, and if they clip your handlebar in passing they'll send you into a crash. If you have a decent bike lane in your commute, a bike like this would be fine.

If the seat post were unstuck it's worth asking price or more but the bars and stem are wrong for the bike and it is too small for someone 5'10". It looks to be 19" mixte with a fairly sort wheel base it's for a rider 5'5" give or take a bit. While it seems nice for the price I would pass a bike that's the wrong size with a stuck post is almost worthless as a rider.

I have neither of those things, especially the patience, so I'll pass. Thanks so much for your help!
