1972 Coventry Eagle in nice shape ?
Cleaning out a few bikes: what do you think of this one ??
Really cute little bike built with a 21-inch (53cm) “Classic” frame to suit a rider from about 5’3 to 5’8. The frame is marked: Reynolds 531 main tubes, chromed forks, seat stays, and chain stays. All decals and the eagle head badge in excellent condition. Lots of light-weight aluminum alloy parts. The crank assembly is square taper drive, not the cotter pins common to low-end bikes of the era.
The bike has the usual mishmash of French, Italian, British and Japanese components typical of the era:
Campagnolo VELOX rear derailleur
Campagnolo front derailleur
Campagnolo aluminum alloy gear levers on down tube
Weinmann Vanqueur 610/999 aluminum alloy front brake calliper
Weinmann Vanqueur 750/999 aluminum alloy rear brake calliper
Dia Compe aluminum alloy brake levers with safety extensions
Brooks B15 “Champion Standard” leather saddle
Sign SPS crank assembly
Sign “Mighty Competition” aluminum alloy chain rings (40 & 52 teeth)
Regina Corse 5-sprocket rear freewheel
Lyotard pedals
Sakae aluminum alloy handlebar stem
Sakae aluminum alloy handlebar
Rigida CHROLOX 27" wheels
Normany aluminum alloy hubs
Aluminum alloy rear carrier with rubber straps
Bit of a novelty, but cute as a bug's ear.

I really like the color the three part candy looks great for a lesser 70's bike. Considering the interesting mix of original components and lesser known maker I would say $200 or so as presented. If in good shape I would pull the saddle and replace it with something else if it's in good shape it's $50-60 saddle and maybe the crank those Sugino Comps with nice chainrings are going for $75-100 sometimes a bit more, the red dust caps in this nice of shape are going for $25+ on the ebay alone.

Coventry Eagle was the same company as Falcon, and this looks pretty much like a Falcon, for what that's worth.

I had a hunch it was a Falcon (from Barton Upon Humber, England) and now that you've said it, I agree. We sold a lot of Falcons at Rainbow Jersey in Milwaukee back in the 1970s and 80s.
