?? Miele

Hi all,

Just bought my first "vintage" after going down the Rabbit Hole that is this forum.

I was perusing CL for awhile, and checking in here for general info, Thanks! there is indeed a wealth of it.

Here is my new friend, I think he is quite handsome. Obviously, I am tall, 6'4"/5" so was limited in CL finds, but I loved what I read about Mieles on here, AND my favorite auntie and uncle live in Toronto area (Kitchener Waterloo) so became quickly partial to them.

Let me know what you think. Only one pic for now, sorry, just decided to join today.
Notes: I think a good deal of it is/may be original, tires are Mieles (can't imagine someone bought those later?), and rims certainly are, Ambrosias. I live in the Wash DC area, and I did not pay much for him, so not too worried about valuation, just opinions? and assessments I guess.

Sorry, I am quite the newbie

Thanks

FYI, it appears to be a circa 1986 Miele Alfa.

T-Mar is far better at identifying Miele bikes, than I am, but this catalog pic might help...

Not sure but my experience with those Ambrosia rims is that they are very hard to fit tires to. Could just be me.

I was thinking it is a Delta, but that is really only because pic in Catalog is also silver. Posting pics soon.
Thanks for any info, it is appreciated, though I am sure you all feel pedantic in that I am such a noob.

The S/N confirms a 1986 model and indicates it was contract manufactured in Japan. It looks like it has a Tange 900 or 1000 tubeset decal, which would indicate an Alfa or Classica. However, the 1986 Classica was not available in silver and it does not not have the black anodized rims and crankset of the Classica. To confirm an Alfa, please post photos of the major components (brakes, crankset, derailleurs).
