What makes you think it is a "specialissimo" model?

How did those Shimano hubs come to find their way in there?

I agree I don't think it is a Specialissma. I'll try and re bet to look it up tonight. Can you post a pic of the tubing deca, shifters from the side and brake calipers?

Appears to be a bit of a chameleon with regard to pedals. In some photos it is seen wearing black quill pattern road pedals and in others black plastic(?) ones as might be seen on a city bike.

Is the bike having difficulty deciding which to wear?

The pedal situation reminded me of a lady having trouble deciding which dress to wear to the party.

As regards serial number the forum has an extensive discussion thread on Bianchi numbers located here:

Of course, as we all know the number 42 is the answer to "life, the universe and everything." - Arthur Dent

Sorry I was exhausted when I got home after my 13 hour day yesterday and totally forgot this.

Thanks for the extra pics. Some of the differences between Victory and Triomphe are so subtle that they are easy to miss.

That fabulous Metallic Violet Bianchi is an '85 Veloce, 5th model from the top, excluding the Centenario. I had thought ti was a Vittoria with the RD replaced by Triomphe but Vittoria came in blue not that awesome Violet. The catalog doesnt really show that chrome on the fork crown so I am not sure if that is just something the factory did, a Canadian thing or a previous owner removed the paint, but it looks pretty smooth for the. The stay cap definitely had the paint removed.

Value on these are hard to judge, are you looking to flip or just wondering if you got a killer deal? It is a beautiful Bianchi with a Columbus frame but it has Triomphe. I think $350ish may be good depending on your market. It isa quality bike but doesn't have index shifting and is not Celeste.

I really like the paint on these and I agree it is Veloce pretty much the only model to have this paint. With the none original wheels basically bit of a downgrade with dork disk!? and being a bit rough I would say $350-400 also.
