Schwinn Super Sport
Actually I bought two of them.
One yesterday, one today.
Same frame size. Both 1971.
What's the value of these model?
I looked online and I found an old eBay post, where a Super Sport was sold for more than 1,000.
But this was 10 years ago.

Sold Ebay auction prices seem to be around $250.

Really?!?
I will try to sell them for 80 a piece.
This should be a fair price, because the Varsity are selling for 100.
What do you think?

Super Sports were a higher model than the Varsity. I'd start higher than $80 as you can always come down.

Super sport was two models up from the Varsity if I recall. Thy are nice CroMo fillet brazed frames with dreadful 1 piece cranks. There are converters to make a 3 piece alloy crank fit. I'd say 150-200 each on these, clean them up nicely.

Thanks.
I know the Varsity is the bottom of Schwinn models.
What about the World Traveler, made in Japan, early 70's? What's their position in the Schwinn line?
I have a green one.

I think it was kind of a lighter weight parallel to the varsity. Was not really lightweight except in the minds of the Chicago Schwinn management.

Those are very attractive bikes with a high sentimental value. Condition is everything. If you can find the right buyer anything is possible. But, if you can get more than about $250 each you'll be lucky.

At least one of them is a '72 model. Since they both still appear to have the original Brooks B15 saddles I'd estimate them at around $200 each as-is.

I would say $150-175 each cleaned up and ready to ride and $100 as presented. Nice basic bikes but slightly rusty kinda junky parts and not so great paint.

But they were cheap. I couldn't leave them away, even I have so many projects.

IMHO, anybody who would pay $1k for a bike like this/these is insane. However, a nice frame with 'rando' bars is worth at least $100. I'd remove the turkey levers, as well as replace the Ashtabula crank with something better.

Sorry, I was wrong, it was only a discussion about a sale on eBay

I'd like to find a super sport in my size. 24-25. Those are some nice old Schwinn bikes you've found. I like the light and seat bag. The bend of those bars are very comfortable on long rides.

What size are the Super Sports? It's interesting the little chromemolybdenum decal is above the front derailleur on the right bike and where it normally is on the left ...
