Vintage Carlton Value
https://denver.craigslist.org/bik/6130206920.html
Quick thoughts on this bike? Looks like Campy rear derailleur has been replaced and it needs a hard core cleaning and consumables replaced.
Guy would do $200 but I'd have to come get it tonight in the next 3 hours.
Let me know what you think. I love the look of this bike for some reason.
Thanks!

I guess I'm curious about resale value on CL?
I know it's about 3cm too small for me. If it was a 56cm I'd have it in my clutches for sure!

I haven't yet. Just got back from a Mother's Day dinner and don't think it's in the cards tonight. Hoping he still has it tomorrow. It's still posted as of now so I guess we'll see.
I'm curious as to what the value of the bike is? I'd love to refurbish it but don't wanna be under water when it's all said and done because it's too small to be a keeper for me.
Let me know if anyone has some insight on what it might sell for ready to ride and looking mostly original.
Thanks to everyone!

Worth more than asking price is the gist-what are you waiting for? Gawd it's pretty....

Even being a bit rough with a couple of mismatched parts it is a great looking bike with full 531 frame set with chrome arebesque lugs and deluxe paint in a fairly nice original shape. I would say it is basically worth the asking price or more and a bargain at $200 that frame set bare would likely go for $300 on Ebay even in the current soft market.

...if it's 3 cm too small, it's someone else's to buy, is kinda where I'm at right now. But certainly a fair price.

That's where I'm ultimately at too. I'm in love with it but what's the point if I can't ride it comfortably. Definitely has me itching for a Carlton in the future though. Gonna keep my eyes peeled.

The guy selling this bike is a bit of a wildcard. Original post was for $300. Then he reposted for $333. Then again for $400. And is now at $450 this morning.
All the while he continues to text me telling me it's mine for $200 and that he's looking to move it quickly.
Again, if it was my size i'd already have it, but this dude is a bit bananas no?!
