Vintage Norco Information Required
Hope someone can give me some info on what I have here. Serial Number is M77 - 1134736 / It Made in Japan. The fenders are made in West Germany. Its Norco. What model would this be called. From the Serial number I am guessing 1977? It is in very good shape and everything works great. Is it worth much?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi @Kamloops123,
welcome to the forums. Thanks for posting the pictures.
Your Norco looks like the mixte version of the Nomad. Frame manufactured in 1977. Could be a 1978 model year.
The serial number probably starts with "Y" not "M". The stamping of the first letter sometimes looks like an "M" because the "Y" is framed inside a square and the square is stamped over the "Y".
Edit: Serial Number
"Y" is for Yamiguchi Sports frames of Japan
77 is the year of manufacture
11 is for the month of manufacture, November.
34736 the unique number for that year.

Yes it is a "Y" looking at it closer. Wow 40 years old and in pretty good condition. Any idea on value? When you say mixed version does that mean not original?

Mixte is a style of frame, sort of like a Euro version of a women's bike but considered to be more unisex. Great for utility use.

I agree with the 1977-1978 the based on the serial number in conjunction with the Thunderbird II front derailleur, what appears to be an Eagle II rear deraileur and the Tourney brakeset.
As is, this is probably $50-$75 bicycle in most Canadian markets. but easily double that in large metropolitan markets like Toronto and Vancouver.
A bicycle of this age should have an overhaul. Make sure you get someone familiar with vintage bicycles, as it appears to the have the aluminum, SR cottered crankset. These are easily damaged by an ignorant, heavy handed mechanic.
