1991 Bottechia Professional SL value

I have received this bike as a gift but unfortunately it is too small for me, any idea of what the value of it is? It is in really good condition and I believe it is all the original campy parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't tell much from the pic. We're going to need close-ups and detail IOT assist properly.

Where are you located? If you are in a strong sellers market, the bike could fetch between $500 and $800 on Craigslist. If you are willing to market the bike on eBay, you might fetch $700 to $1000, but you will pay fees. If your local market is more isolated, trying to sell locally on Craigslist might reduce the eventual transaction to $400 to $600.

I think you can ask $800 to start and, be willing to go down a little for condition.

Looks like Campagnolo Chorus with monoplaner brake calipers. Components look in good shape from the pics provided. Is there any road-rash/scrapes on any parts? That will affect value. Any dents or major scrapes in the paint not shown in the pics? They too would affect value. Right now, I'm only seeing that bit of rust on the fork crown, otherwise the frame looks in good shape.

However you list it, make sure to document it completely. Furnish pics of all the components and lug junctions on the frame, as well as any damage to the paint. Photograph it as you'd want to see it presented to you if your were considering a purchase.

Depending on condition, I'd go $800 tops. It's nice, but I'm not seeing a $1000 bike there.

IOT = in order to.

SL framed bikes used to reach close to the $1K value level not too long ago, especially when well appointed with higher level components like this bike, plus the very nice paint, chrome and classic graphics. SL and 531 frames do not command such high prices as they used to, as everyone seem to now feel that SLX and 753 bikes are THE ones to have.
I agree with $800 to possibly be the max asking price for the bike if it is indeed in VGC, without any rust or bad scratches or gouges anywhere. If anything, the red paint and classic looking full chromed fork will really give you good leverage to get that asking price. It not being way too small (looks to be around 50 cm?), will also make it attractive to a wider market.

If you want to get $700, ask $850. I think you can get $700 easily, regardless of the market. Heck, I'd buy it for $700

Start at 800 so you have room to deal to a still good price. Feel out the buyer to see if you can be firm a 800 then decide whether to consider to entertain a lower price, but try to be the one to decide on a final number so the sale would at least be something that you will not regret later.
