Model/year/price of Guerciotti Road Bike?

Hi,

I plan to sell this bike for a newer road bike. Id like to know the model/year and potential value of the bike. Thank you.

Welcome to the forums. Tubing decals appear to be post 1987 Columbus SLX or TSX but the chain stay has a Sprint decal, which was the model name for an aluminum framed, Shimano New 105 equipped model. It's definitely not the former and appears to have a mixed bag of components. Please identify the tubing type and major components, preferably with pictures. Are you the original owner? If not, also include pictures of the fork crown and lower head lug and bottom bracket shell. It may be a repaint and re-decal. You can't tell much from the photo.

Thank you for the response. Ive attached some pictures, hopefully this can help identify the value better. I am not the original owner and do not know really anything about bikes in general.

More pics with more light needed. Get some from the drive side of the bike and closeups of the rear dropout/derailleur area and fork crown shoulder.
Decals do look to be from late 80's or later. Hard to confirm tubing from just pics of the bike and the SLX decal on it. You might have to look into the bottom bracket she'll to confirm if seat and down tubes have reinforcing "rifling" that SLX tubing should have.
If this is indeed a Guerciotti from the late 80's with an SLX frame, it could be worth around 700 too 800 dollars max, if in close to mint condition.
The non-top end components presently on the bike is keeping it from getting close or at $1K. If it had a full Campy Super Record gruppo on it, it might hit the $1K price point. With C Record/Delta gruppo, up to $1200.
I don't think SLX Guerciottis get to as high a value these days as Masis, De Rosas, Colnago or Pinarellos do, which sell out there from $1400 and up these days.

Well, at least we now know it's a genuine Guerciotti. Removing the bottom bracket and checking the inside of the tubes for the helical ridges indicative of SLX would be the definitive test. However, all the SLX frames I've seen have used a bridgeless bottom bracket and though it doesn't look quite right, is that a bridge in the photo? I'm also used to seeing the SLX models with chrome on both chainstays. That shell embossing font first appeared in 1984 and the chrome fork disappeared circa 1986. Of course, that assumes it is a USA model.
