Real Lemond?

Hello,

This not so much a "What's it worth", but more like "Is it real". I was given a lead to a Lemond bike with Tiagra/Sora 9 speed drivetrain and Reynolds 525 tubing at a thrift shop 60 miles away. Seems like a Lemond would have at least 105 components. What do you folks think? Sorry, no decent pix yet.

Regards,

Van

Totally plausible. During the Trek years LeMond branded bikes were available down to the Sora and Tiagra levels. They were still good bikes, IMO. I had a 1999 LeMond Nevada City, which had a Reynolds 853 main triangle and Sora components.

It is real Lemond built by Trek. It very likely is not one of the various contract build bikes from before the Trek deal.

There were a LOT of late 90s yellow Lemond Tourmalets in this part of South Carolina with parts kits like that. It's probably legit.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like a decent bike, but nothing special. I'll check their price flexibility and see if it's worth the trip,

Cheers,

Van
