I was given a Kevlar 2000 bicycle, probably over 5 years old. What's the body made of? I know nothing about it and would like to sell it. thanks

The Look Kevlar 2000 (aka KG85) was made in the late 1980s. The frame tubing is made of a carbon fiber/epoxy resin matrix reinforced with Kevlar fibers. The tubes are joined with lugs. Some older frames made of carbon fiber tubes using metal lugs (usually aluminum or titanium) experience failures at the lug joints as the adhesive used in the joints deteriorates over time.

I have no idea what the value might be today, although Look is a well known manufacturer of quality bicycles. Check ebay sold listings to see what they've been selling for.

1988 Look Carbon-Kevlar Frames catalog page (pdf)

1988 Look Ctalog (pdf)

EDIT - According to the 1988 catalog, the lugs ("couplings") and dropouts are "light alloy" (probably aluminum) structurally "bonded" (chemical adhesive) to the carbon fiber-Kevlar tubes.

Light alloy couplings, front fork dropouts and backstay dropouts in light alloy, tube-coupling through structural bonding, nothing is left to chance on these Carbon-Kevlar* frames.

If it is the LOOK Kevlar 2000, there might be a market for it if it's in good condition. This was a highly sought after bicycle when it came out. If it's something else (NoName brand) with Kevlar 2000 on it, who knows what it is and what it's worth. The LOOK bike is the only thing I was able to find online after some searching.

Wonderful thread title. Might consider using something more useful in the future.
